Vaastu Purusha Mandala

Vastu purusha mandala is the metaphysical diagrammatic design of cosmos on which the whole concept of Vastu Shastra is based. It is believed that Vastu purusha is lied down on the cosmos which constitutes energies in a way that his head is resting in North-east direction which represents balanced thinking; lower body facing South-west which represents strength and firmness; his navel is in center of the earth signifying cosmic awareness and holiness; his hand face North-west and South-east which signifies energy.Vastu purusha is the presiding deity while other eight directions have their own specific God that governs their direction. The mandala is basically enclosed area in which Vastu purusha is lied down signifies his birth from nature. On the basis of this structure and prescribed directions construction is recommended and all the physical features are decided in terms of ventilation, doors, windows, location etc.

Directions In Vaastu Shastra

There are total eight directions North, South, East, and West are called cardinal directions and the point where any of the two directions meet is called intercardinal or ordinal point like NE, SE, SW, NW. These directions are given a lot of importance in Vastu Shastra as they combine the benefits of two directions in totality.
Our Shastra says if we worship, idolize and honour the Lords of these eight directions, people yield eternal blessings in the form of success, health and prosperity. We will now examine their importance according to scriptures.

East: This direction is governed by lord Indra and he is known to be the king of Gods. He bestows wealth and pleasures of life.

South East: This direction is governed by lord of fire- Agni. He gives us good personality and all good things of life. Fire is a source of health as it is related to fire, cooking and food.

Origin Of Vaastu Shastra

The origin of vaastushastra may have taken place well over thousands of years ago. The learned men of those days may not have lived in houses themselves but they most definitely dedicated their lives to the development of the science “vaastushastra” or “vaastu”, as it is popularly known today.

The principles of the science laid down during those days were based purely on the effect of sunrays during different times of the day. The observations and corrections made were noted and concluded only after in-depth screening of the situation.

Vastu is a part of Vedas, which are believed to be four to five thousand years old. Through penance and meditation yogis of that period acquired answers believed to have come from the cosmic mind itself to their questions. Hence Vedas are heeded with divine knowledge. The art of Vastu originates in the Stapatya Veda, a part of the Atharva Veda. It used to be a purely technical subject and it was only confined to

Tantra In Modern World

Other more popular authors such as Joseph Campbell helped to bring Tantra into the imagination of the peoples of the West. Tantra came to be viewed by some as a “cult of ecstasy”, combining sexuality and spirituality in such a way as to act as a corrective force to Western repressive attitudes about sex.

As Tantra has become more popular in the West it has undergone a major transformation. For many modern readers, “Tantra” has become a synonym for “spiritual sex” or “sacred sexuality”, a belief that sex in itself ought to be recognized as a sacred act which is capable of elevating its participants to a more sublime spiritual plane.

Though Neotantra may adopt many of the concepts and terminology of Indian Tantra, it often omits one or more of the following: the traditional reliance on guruparampara (the guidance of a guru), extensive meditative practice, and traditional rules of conduct—both moral and

Meanings Of Numbers In Numerology

Birth Path Number

The birth path number, which suggests your overall path in life and place in the world, is based on your complete birth date. It is easy to calculate. Simply add up the digits of your birth data, and keep “reducing” (explained via the example here) to a single digit.
Example:
If your birthday is April 28, 1968, for example, note it as follows:
Birth Month is April, which is the 4th month = 4
Birth Day is 28 = 28
Birth Year is 1968 = 1968.
Add up the digits of all of these numbers:
4+2+8+1+9+6+8 = 38
Further “reduce” this number to a single digit by adding its digits:
3+8 = 11
And then further reduce it, if necessary:
1+1 = 2
The final digit, 2, is the Birth Path Number.

Tantra

Tantra is composed of two words, i.e.tan and tra which implies that through sadhana and pooja one can mould nature and God according to one’s desires. Tantra is a sadhana, a method, a technique or a path that is available in all religions. Tantras are deeply associated with the mantras. Without mantras tantra cannot be successful. Both are practiced simultaneously to achieve more success in tantra. Tantra is not a religion but is a sadhana, a shastra, consisting of religion’s treatise compiled by Lord Shiva containing mystical formulae for the attainment of supernatural powers. Mantras are continually whispered by a tantrik while performing the rituals as they help to energise tantras for specific purposes. The mantras produce appropriate vibrations within a psychic field. Besides mantra the asana is also closely related to tantra.
Asana is actually a step by step dissolution of the body into the subtle elements, a process of gradual involution whereby the body is identified with the sense of smell, water with taste, fire with vision, air with touch, ether with sound. These five elements are

Talisman (Amulet) And Religions

Potential amulets include gems, especially engraved gems, statues, coins, drawings, pendants, rings, plants and animals; even words said in certain occasions—for example: vade retro satana—(Latin, “go back, Satan”), to repel evil or bad luck. Black Magic - In Brief

Black magic is the type of magic that draws on assumed malevolent powers and/or is used with the intention to kill, steal, injure, cause misfortune or destruction, or for personal gain without regard to harmful consequences. As a term, “black magic” is normally used by those that do not approve of its uses.
A rather different view on Black Magic is used in the system of Chaos magic. In this branch of occult practice, spells sometimes correspond to colors, depending on the supposed effect (e.g., red magic, which is magic concerned with combat, such as low-level curses). Black magic, in Chaos magic, corresponds to magic that is performed around the themes of death, separation, severance and entropy. This can refer to powerful curses meant to bring the strongest effect, spells to sever emotional ties to objects or people, and so on.

Mantra And Religions

Mantra is a complete set of words from the Vedas attributed to the deities or Devas. Mantras have come down from  Maharishis, saints, Sadhus and Yogis who after recitation of Mantras for several thousand years guided us to follow them.Mantras are used in Tantrik sadhanas or rituals, whispered or chanted in different combinations and contexts, setting up patterns of vibrations. One must learn to pronounce them properly as well as to understand their meaning. According to old scriptures mantras are the only ways to attain one's desires, provided one recite them with complete faith and prescribed methods and rules.

Origin
Mantras originated in the Vedic tradition of India, later becoming an essential part of the Hindu tradition and a customary practice within Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism. The use of mantras is now widespread throughout various spiritual movements which are based on, or off-shoots of, the practices in the earlier Eastern traditions and religions.
In the terms of  Vedas, the term mantra refers to the entire portion which contains the texts called Rik, Yajuh or Sama, that is, the metrical part as opposed to the prose Brahmana commentary. With the transition from ritualistic Vedic traditions to mystical and egalitarian Hindu schools of Yoga, Vedanta, Tantra and

Numerology - An Introduction And History

More than 2,000 years ago, Pythagoras (a great mathematician), believed that the key to understanding the Universe was hidden in the science of numbers and felt that by interpreting their symbolism and hidden meanings that we would be able to gain insights into our fate and destiny.
Numerology is the study of numbers, normally based upon the premise that numbers can reveal the future or hidden information - thus, numerology is usually a form of divination. One of the most common examples of numerology is the use of a person's name. Each letter in their name is given a number, the numbers are added up, then the numbers in the result are added up - continuing along until a single number is left, which is then alleged to be your special or lucky number.

History
Modern numerology often contains aspects of a variety of ancient cultures and teachers, including Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers (Greece, 6th century B.C.), astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria, early Christian mysticism, early Gnostics, the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah, The Indian Vedas, the Chinese "Circle of the Dead", Egyptian "Book of the Masters of the Secret House" (Ritual of the Dead).
Pythagoras and other philosophers of the time believed that because mathematical concepts were more "practical" (easier to regulate and classify) than physical ones, they had greater actuality.

Feng Shui

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi. The original designation for the discipline is Kan Yu.
The term feng shui literally translates as "wind-water" in English. This is a cultural shorthand taken from the following passage of the Zangshu (Book of Burial) by Guo Pu of the Jin Dynasty
Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water.Historically, feng shui was widely used to orient buildings—often spiritually significant structures such as tombs, but also dwellings and other structures—in an auspicious manner. Depending on the particular style of feng shui being used, an auspicious site could be determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars, or a compass. Feng shui was suppressed in China during the cultural revolution in the 1960s, but has since seen an increase in popularity.

Mounts In Palmistry

In order to be able to interpret the lines—and their effects on our relationships—it is essential to have an understanding of the underlying mounts.
The hand is divided into seven segments called mounts. Each mount relates to a corresponding planet with a specific portfolio. The mounts of the hand provide a tangible record of how we deal with each of these planetary influences, and what our challenges are.
The mounts also represent the colors in the spectrum of the rainbow. The more each mount begins to reflect the characteristics of its own specific light frequency, the more representative it becomes of the superconscious soul or light within.
The mounts are Luna, Venus, Mars (formed by its negative and positive poles), Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury and Rahu and Ketu.
Following is a brief description of the mounts and the specific characteristics that they reflect.
  • The mount of Luna (or Moon - represents the first stage of our evolutionary process. Luna stands for the original plan of creation, as in the Bible quotation, “in the beginning was the Word...” As such, it relates to the collective unconscious as well as to each person’s individual receptivity to tune into that creative source. Luna pertains to the qualities of perception, creativity, imagination and sensory awareness.
  • Venus - next in the sequence of mounts, represents the actual physical manifestation of the “concept” which was initiated in Luna. (“... and the Word was made flesh....”*). Venus represents the actual cellular makeup—or energy—that manifests itself in physical form. It shows the condition of the body and how at home we feel in our physical form. The mount of Venus reflects the presence or absence of

Hand Shapes In Palmistry

Depending on the type of palmistry practiced, and the type of reading being performed, palmists may look at various qualities of the hand, including the shapes and lines of the palm and fingers; the color and texture of the skin and fingernails; the relative sizes of the palm and fingers; the prominence of the knuckles; and numerous other attributes of the hands.
In most schools of palmistry, hand shapes are divided into four or 10 major types, sometimes corresponding to the Classical elements or temperaments. Hand shape is believed to indicate character traits corresponding to the type indicated (i.e., a "Fire hand" would exhibit high energy, creativity, short temper, ambition, etc. - all qualities believed to be related to the Classical element of Fire).
Although variations abound, the most common classifications used by modern palmists:
  • Earth hands are generally identified by broad, square palms and fingers, thick or coarse skin, and ruddy color. The length of the palm from wrist to the bottom of the fingers is usually equal to the length of the fingers.
  • Air hands exhibit square or rectangular palms with long fingers and sometimes protruding knuckles, low-set thumbs, and often dry skin. The length of the palm from wrist to the bottom of the fingers is

Palmistry - Introduction And History

INTRODUCTION

Palmistry or chiromancy (also spelled cheiromancy, Greek kheir (χεῖρ, ός), “hand”; manteia (μαντεία, ας), “divination”), is the art of characterization and foretelling the future through the study of the palm, also known as palm reading, or chirology. The practice is found all over the world, with numerous cultural variations. Those who practice chiromancy are generally called palmists, palm readers, hand readers, hand analysts, or chirologists.

Aristotle stated that "Lines are not written into the human hand without reason. They emanate from
